Asam Bani enters its 65th year

GUWAHATI, June 30 - Asam Bani will step into its 65th year of publication tomorrow. The weekly has been serving the people of the State with its objective reporting since its launch on July 1, 1955. Published by the Assam Tribune Group of Publications, Asam Bani was the brainchild of Radha Govinda Baruah.

Noted personalities in the field of Assamese culture and literature like Satis Chandra Kakati, Tilak Hazarika, Phani Talukdar, Nirod Choudhury, Homen Borgohain and Chandra Prasad Saikia had served as the editor of the weekly in the past.

Current editor Dileep Chandan has been instrumental in giving a new look to the weekly that has made a mark for itself with investigative news report, analytical articles on contemporary issues and contribution from noted writers and columnists.
