Guwahati, Jan 29: This year’s Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, the highest honour conferred on overseas Indians in recognition of their achievements both in India and abroad, was conferred on Arvind Phukan, retired professor of Civil Engineering, University of Alaska, USA, and the award was presented by the President of India during the 16th edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention held virtually recently.
Phukan is one of the awardees from the US in the field of environment technology.
Founder and CEO of Phukan Inc., a consulting firm specializing in civil, structural, geotechnical and environmental engineering, Phukan has also served as a Rotary International District Governor, stated a press release issued here today.
