Arup Kr Dutta�s The Ahoms hits the stands

GUWAHATI, Nov 11 - Internationally-acclaimed author Arup Kumar Dutta has come up with his latest literary venture, The Ahoms, focusing on the scintillating saga of the Ahom dynasty that ruled Assam for 600 long years. The book, which has been published by the Assam Jatiya Bidyalay Educational and Socio-economic Trust, Noonmati, Guwahati, has hit the stands today. Well-known book publisher of the State, Bhabani Books, has been entrusted with the distribution of the book.

On the launching of The Ahoms, the acclaimed author said that it was a sincere effort to focus on this unique dynasty in national and international perspectives. It has sought to imaginatively acquaint the reader with the scintillating saga of this fascinating dynasty and provide a glimpse of the major events during its six-hundred-year rule in this part of the world.

Dr Narayan Sarma, secretary of the Assam Jatiya Bidyalay Educational and Socio-economic Trust, said that the book has been published by the trust on a non-profit basis and with the aim to take such a subject of utmost historical and social importance to the national and international levels.
