Arunava clinches double crown in Asian Juniors

JORHAT, Aug 24 - Arunava Majumder of India clinched double crown by winning the boys U-14 singles and doubles events in the Asian Juniors tennis tournament, conclude at the Jorhat Tennis Club here today.

In the singles Arunava defeated Ashwajit Senjam 6-1, 6-2 while in doubled pairing with Manan Nath he downed the pair of Samprit Sharma and Kriish Tyagi both of India 7-5, 6-4.

The girls singles title went to Pari Singh� who trounced Saumitra Jagatdeo Verma 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

In the closing function prizes were distributed by Raktim Saikia, treasurer, All India Tennis Association and president, All Assam Tennis Association.

Other Final results: (Girls doubles) Namrata Das/Nemha Sarah Kispotta bt Ridhi Choudhury Poka/Jyoshita Sureshkumar Amutha 6-1, 7-6 (8). (Boys for positions 3 and 4) Manan Nath bt Samprit Sharma 4-2, 4-2. (Girls for positions 3 and 4) Namrata Das bt Raja Sarvagnya Kilaru 3-0 (Concede).
