ITANAGAR, Oct 4 - Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday recorded 201 new COVID-19 cases, which took the number of total cases in the State to 10,421.
The fresh cases include eight security personnel, five workers of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and 17 health care workers. Five personnel of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), two State police constables and one Army man are among the security personnel.
A total of 205 patients have recovered from the disease on Saturday, pushing the number of recoveries to 7,388, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services.
Of the fresh infections, Itanagar Capital Complex, which remained worst affected by the virus, alone accounted for 80 cases. The State capital region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has so far registered 3,904 cases, including 1,594 active cases, 2304 cured/discharged cases and six fatalities.
According to the bulletin, Changlang district reported 16 cases, West Siang and Tirap 14 cases each, Kamle 11 and East Siang 10.
Nine cases were detected in Lohit district, eight each in Lower Subansiri and Namsai, five each in West Kameng and Longding, four each in Pakke Kessang and Leparada.
Lower Dibang Valley reported three cases, Tawang and Lower Siang two cases each, and Upper Subansiri, East Kameng, Shi-Yomi, Anjaw, Papumpare and Kurung Kumey reported one case each.
Among the new cases, 46 are symptomatic and 155 asymptomatic.
Till date, around 2.56 lakh samples have been tested, including 2,568 samples on Saturday, for COVID-19 in the State, the bulletin said.
The State currently has 3,015 active cases, of which 974 are recuperating in various COVID care facilities and 2,041 under home isolation. Eighteen people have already succumbed to the virus.
