Arunachal virus toll reaches 42

ITANAGAR, Nov 4 - Four more persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the virus toll in the State to 42, a senior Health Department official said.

While three patients, including a 40-year-old woman from Daporijo, died at the dedicated COVID hospital at Chimpu on Tuesday, the fourth victim (a 58-year-old retired Army personnel hailing from New Bomdila) expired at the Military Hospital, Dahung, in West Kameng on October 30, State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday recorded 85 new cases of the novel coronavirus, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 15,083, according to a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here.

On the contrary, the State has registered 129 cured cases, pushing the COVID-19 recovery rate to 88.62 per cent, the bulletin added. Seventy-one of the new cases have been found to be asymptomatic and 14 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

In a positive sign, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the State has lately been declining. The State currently has 1,674 active cases, while 13,367 patients have already recovered from the infection so far.
