ITANAGAR, Aug 11 - Arunachal Pradesh recorded 76 new COVID-19 positive cases on Monday, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 2,231.
Besides, the State registered 110 recoveries on the same day, raising the total number of discharged cases to 1,592. This has pushed the recovery rate to 71.35 per cent, exceeding the national average of 69.80 per cent.
Following this, the number of active cases has come down to 636. Three casualties have also been reported due to the virus, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here on Monday evening. Of the 76 fresh cases reported, 23 cases are from West Kameng, while 15 are from the Itanagar Capital Complex. East Siang and Changlang districts recorded six cases each and Upper Subansiri detected five cases.
Four cases each were reported from Leparada and Namsai, while three cases came from Lower Dibang Valley. Two cases each were confirmed in Tawang, Lower Siang, East Kameng and Lohit, whereas Papum Pare and Lower Subansiri found one case each.
Of the 110 COVID-19 patients discharged following their recovery, Changlang led the table with 33 recoveries. The Itanagar Capital Complex is second with 28 recoveries, followed by Namsai (17) and East Kameng (13). West Kameng and Upper Siang recorded four recoveries each, while Lower Siang, Tawang and Shi-Yomi registered two each, and Leparada and Tirap witnessed one recovery each.
Of the 76 new novel coronavirus cases, nine have been found symptomatic and 67 asymptomatic, as per the bulletin. Thirty-six of the infected persons are Central paramilitary forces personnel.
