Arunachal tally climbs to 12,367

ITANAGAR, Oct 13 - Arunachal Pradesh on Monday recorded 220 fresh cases the novel coronavirus, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 12,367, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here.

The State also registered recovery and discharge of 171 COVID-19 patients on the day, pushing the recovery rate to 76.03 per cent. So far, 9,403 people have been cured of the disease in the State.

The Itanagar Capital Complex reported most of the cases (88). West Siang detected 23 new positive cases, East Siang 16 and Upper Siang 13. Tirap and Changlang recorded 11 cases each and Lower Dibang Valley 10. Eight cases were reported in Lohit, and six each in West Kameng and Upper Siang. Five cases were registered in Lower Subansiri, four each in Longding and East Kameng, and three in Kamle, while two cases each were recorded in Lower Siang, Namsai and Papumpare, and one each in Pakke Kessang, Tawang, Anjaw and Kurung Kumey.

Among the new infections, 190 cases were found to be asymptomatic and 30 symptomatic, as per the bulletin. Of the total cured cases, the Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for 50, followed by Kra Daadi (21), Changlang (15), Tirap (14) and Upper Subansiri (12).

The State has currently 2,940 active cases, including 2,027 under home isolation. The rest of the patients are recuperating in various COVID care facilities across the State, while 24 people have already succumbed to the virus.
