Arunachal slammed for poor NBA implementation

By The Assam Tribune

ITANAGAR, July 26 - The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has slammed the Arunachal Pradesh Government for poor implementation of Central schemes under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA).

The CAG in its recent report which was tabled in the State Assembly this month, highlighted various anomalies in implementation of the NBA during the period of 2009 to 2012 in the State.

The report pointed out inconsistencies in the number of BPL and APL households which it suggested for rectification.

The performance review of the scheme during the period revealed that a good number of individual household latrines (IHHLs) constructed became defunct by 2012-13 and components like construction of rural sanitary marts (RSMs), production centres (PCs) and solid & liquid waste management (SLWM) were not taken up except in Lohit district, where the constructed RSM was not satisfactory, the report highlighted. PTI
