ITANAGAR, Oct 2 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has sought support and guidance from the prestigious North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong for establishment of the State�s first medical college � Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences at Naharlagun.
The CM made the plea during a meeting with NEIGRIHMS Director Prof (Dr) P Bhattacharyya, who called on him at his Secretariat office here recently.
Khandu requested NEIGRIHMS Director to help the State in drafting the recruitment rules for medical college faculties besides providing guidance and support in recruitment of professor level faculties. He also appealed the premier medical institute to exchange teaching programmes and faculties through digital classrooms.
Assuring all possible support, Prof Bhattacharyya, also a member of Governing Council of the upcoming medical college asked the State Government to create congenial atmosphere at the institute by providing all necessary facilities to lure faculties.
Health Minister Jomde Kena, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Phurpa Tsering, Director of Health & Family Welfare Dr Moji Jini, among others, also attended the meeting.
