Arunachal reports four new COVID-19 cases

ITANAGAR, June 4 - Arunachal Pradesh today reported four fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the total number of positive cases in the State to 42.

The total number of active cases in the State now stands at 41 as one patient had already recovered, the State Health Department said.

Of the four new cases, three are from Changlang and one from Aalo in West Siang district.

All the four new cases were detected at a quarantine facility and all of them are asymptomatic, the Directorate of Health Services stated in a tweet.

�As on 4:15 PM/ June 4/ 2020, 4 new cases detected at the Quarantine Facility. 3 from Changlang and 1 from Aalo. All are Asymptomatic,� it tweeted.

On Wednesday, Arunachal recorded a spike in COVID-19 cases with 10 returnees � nine housed at Changlang quarantine facility and one at PTC Banderdewa quarantine centre under the Itanagar Capital Region � testing positive.

With detection of three new cases, Changlang district now accounts for 28 active cases, followed by eight in the Itanagar Capital Region and one each from Pakke-Kessang, Lohit, Namsai, Tawang and Upper Siang districts.

The State�s first COVID-19 patient was discharged from a Tezu hospital in Lohit district on April 16 after he had tested negative twice.
