Arunachal reports 65 more COVID-19 cases

ITANAGAR, Aug 6 - Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday reported 65 fresh COVID-19 cases and saw discharge of 105 cured patients.

The detection of new cases has jacked up the State�s tally to 1,855.

On the other hand, after discharge of 105 patients, the total number of recoveries has touched 1,210.

As per a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services, the State�s active cases stand at 642. COVID-19 has claimed three lives in the State so far.

Of the 65 new cases, 19 were detected in Changlang, 12 in East Siang, 10 in Itanagar Capital Complex and eight in Lohit.

East Kameng and West Siang recorded four cases each, while Namsai registered three and Tirap two cases. Lower Dibang Valley, Papum Pare and Tawang reported one case each.

Twenty-two out of the 65 newly infected persons are personnel of Central paramilitary forces.

Of the 65 new cases, six are symptomatic and 59 asymptomatic, the bulletin stated.

Among the 105 discharged patients, 54 are from the Itanagar Capital Complex, 15 from East Siang, eight from Upper Siang and six from East Kameng. Five patients each were released in Tawang and Tirap, whereas four were discharged in Lohit.

Siang and Lower Siang accounted for two cured cases each. Lower Dibang Valley, Changlang, Namsai and Lower Subansiri have one discharged case each.
