ITANAGAR, May 31 - The COVID-19 tally of Arunachal Pradesh reached four with a 12-year-old boy testing positive on Saturday.

The boy, a returnee from New Delhi, who was under quarantine in Upper Siang district, tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. He has been shifted to the COVID Care Centre, State Health Secretary P Parthiban said on Sunday.

The patient is asymptomatic and is doing well, the Secretary said. The boy had come back to the State on May 23, and was put under institutional quarantine the next day. His sample was collected on May 26 which came positive yesterday, he added.

With the detection of the new case, the total number of active cases in the State now stands at three as one patient has already recuperated and released from hospital.

It may be mentioned that the first COVID-19 patient, who was linked to Delhis Nizamuddin Markaz event, was discharged from the Tezu hospital on April 16 after he was tested negative twice.

Meanwhile, in a major respite, all primary and secondary contacts of a patient, who had returned from Chennai and tested positive on May 27, have tested negative.

Primary & Secondary contacts of recent 2nd positive active were 26 persons and all have tested #Covid19 Negative, Chief Minister Pema Khandu tweeted on Sunday.
