Arunachal records 32 new COVID-19 cases

ITANAGAR, July 27 - Arunachal Pradesh recorded 32 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, raising its total number of confirmed cases to 1,158, a release by the State Directorate of Health Services here said.

It said 77 positive cases were discharged following recovery. With this, the number of recoveries/discharges rose to 505, while active cases stand at 650. The State has so far reported three casualties.

Of the 32 fresh cases, five were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, where Rapid Response Teams engaged in rapid antigen tests.

Altogether, 11 new cases were reported from Seppa, headquarters of East Kameng district followed by eight from Changlang, six from Upper Siang and one case each from East Siang and Lower Subansiri districts.

All the 11 East Kameng cases were confirmed to be �contacts� of a positive case detected earlier, while all six Upper Siang cases are ITBP personnel and were detected in quarantine facility (QF).

Of the eight cases in Changlang, four are returnees, two health care workers, one is the wife of a cook working in PHC, Bordumsa, and another being a staff member of PHE Bordumsa. Both cases of East Siang and Lower Subansiri are returnees and detected in QF.

All five cases in Itanagar Capital Complex were detected through RDT-Antigen tests, which included one each from State Quarantine Facility, Lekhi and C-sector, and three from Dukam Colony, Naharlagun. They were later shifted to the Covid Care Centre. 23 cases were found to be asymptomatic and nine symptomatic.

Meanwhile, a total of 77 patients, including 70 in Itanagar Capital Complex, were released following their recovery. Two cases each were discharged in West Kameng, Lower Subansiri and Lower Siang, and one in Changlang.
