Arunachal poll panel reviews preparations

ITANAGAR, Dec 18 - With just three days left for the panchayat and municipal elections in Arunachal Pradesh, which are being held after seven-and-a-half-years, State Election Commissioner Hage Kojeen today held the �final� video conference with all poll observers, DEOs and SPs to review the overall preparedness for the polling day as well as counting of votes.

Polling for both panchayats and municipalities is scheduled to be held on December 22, while counting of votes will take place on December 26.

The issues discussed in the virtual meet were readiness of polling stations, appointment of polling personnel and their training, law and order, effective communication arrangement, movement of polling teams, Model Code of Conduct, SOPs on COVID-19 management, arrangement of counting halls, etc.

�The overall feedback given by all the DEOs, observers and SPs during the video conference was satisfactory and everything is set to conduct free and fair election on 22nd December 2020,� stated a press note from the poll panel here.
