By Correspondent

ITANAGAR, April 12 - With a view to improve the quality of policing and delivery of public services to the common man through the use of digital platform and bring law-keepers closer to the people, Arunachal Police have launched three digital initiatives.

These include Public Grievances Redressal Module on its website arunpol.nic.in, a Facebook page http://facebook.com/arunachalpolice and a Twitter handle http://www.twitter.com/DgpPradesh.

The new digital initiatives were today launched by Arunachal Home Minister Kumar Waii in a function at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here in presence of Director General of Police SBK Singh and other top ranking police officers.

The launch was followed by a SPs conference, which discussed law and order, insurgency and administrative matters, besides deciding on strategies to make Arunachal Police technologically efficient.

In his inaugural speech, the Home Minister said the law enforcement machinery including the top cops needed to be creative to effectively deal with the IT challenges.

Re-affirming wholehearted support from his end to redress the polices grievances, the Home Minister sought the top cops cooperation in maintaining law and order so as to achieve the true objective of a peaceful Arunachal Pradesh.

The DGP said anyone having any grievance with the Arunachal Pradesh Police can lodge his complaint and shall be able to get a reply on the website. This will vastly improve the performance of the Police. It is also a forum where public can give suggestions for maintenance of law and order and improvement of public safety.

On the launch of digital initiatives as part of Digital India and Digital Arunachal campaigns, he said, these initiatives are expected to work as force multiplier in times to come.
