Arunachal okays policy on organic farming

ITANAGAR, Oct 29 � Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet with Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in the chair today gave its nod to the proposal for an �Arunachal Pradesh State Policy on Organic Farming�. This comes in the wake of the State Government�s decision to declare Arunachal Pradesh an �Organic State�, informed government spokesperson Bamang Felix here.

Besides approving the proposal for setting up a 4 MW Solar Power Plant at the Industrial Growth Centre (IGC), Niglok in East Siang district, the Cabinet, during its five hour-long meeting, also gave its seal of approval for upgradation of Ruksin, Jengging and Kimin administrative units.

It was also decided to enhance the upper age limit for appointment of APCS (Entry Grade) through lateral entry by amending the existing recruitment rule and to make registration of local contractors obligatory. �In order to boost the morale of unemployed engineers and facilitate their self employment, it has been approved that they (unemployed engineers) will be exempted from paying the registration fees,� added the government spokesperson. � Correspondent
