ITANAGAR, April 4 - A State Government officer allegedly committed suicide in the Arunachal Pradesh capital today. The District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) of Papum Pare district, Youngzom Tsering, was found hanging in the bathroom of her residence at the ESS Sector here at 9 am. She was 38 and is survived by her husband, who lives at Kalaktang in West kameng district, and a nine-year-old son.

As per preliminary investigation, the officer took the extreme step due to work pressure and tension. According to her family members, she was about to send a resignation letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Papum Pare district, but they discouraged her to do so.
