Arunachal moots Rs 250 cr contingency fund

ITANAGAR, May 14 � In a major policy decision, the Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet with Chief Minister Nabam Tuki in the chair today decided to constitute a contingency fund of Rs 250 crore for the fiscal year 2015-16.

This will enable the State Government to make advances to tide over unforeseen exigencies, according to government spokesperson Bamang Felix.

The State Cabinet also approved the operational guidelines for utilisation of Rs 10 crore as revolving fund under the Arunachal Pradesh CM�s Universal Health Insurance Scheme (APCMUHIS).

The scheme�s implementation will facilitate cash-less treatment of beneficiaries in all government-run hospitals and other empanelled hospitals outside the State, without any hassle.

The Cabinet directed the Department of Health and Family Welfare for timely review and monitoring of the implementation of APCMUHIS in order to avoid inconvenience to the patients while availing the services under the programme.

The Cabinet also okayed the interim development plan of the capital region-2021 under provision of section 24 of Arunachal Pradesh Urban & Country Planning Act, 2007.

Further, the State Cabinet also approved the draft Arunachal Pradesh Heritage Bill 2015 which is to be tabled in the State Assembly during its next session.

The Cabinet took another important decision to adopt common recruitment rules for UDC and LDC, besides approving for common recruitment rules for the post of Constables (General Duty) and Civil Police, IRBn and AAPBn under the Arunachal Pradesh Police.

The Cabinet later reviewed the State�s disaster preparedness and directed the Disaster Management department to liaise with the DCs and PRIs in launching special campaigns for sensitising the masses on disaster preparedness involving NGOs.
