Arunachal Guv tribute on Kargil Vijay Diwas eve

ITANAGAR, July 25 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig Dr BD Mishra (retd) paid homage to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces on the eve of the Kargil Vijay Diwas. In a message, he said that on the occasion of the Kargil Diwas, he joined his fellow citizens of Arunachal Pradesh in paying tribute to the gallant soldiers of India, who stood firm in their line of duty. He also greeted the people of Arunachal Pradesh, who have stood firmly with the Indian Armed Forces.

The Governor expressed hope that the occasion would inspire patriotism, nationalism, and the spirit to sacrifice for the defence of the nation, among the countrymen.

Mishra said that the Kargil Diwas marks the success of the �Operation Vijay� launched by the Armed Forces in 1999 against the Pakistani regulars and militia troops, who had occupied Indian territory in Kargil.

�Our valiant soldiers fought with grit and guts, and successfully retrieved and reasserted the territorial integrity of our motherland. He further said that during this intense war, many of our warriors laid down their lives and made supreme sacrifice to defend the country,� he said.

�We stand in salute to those officers and troops who gave their �today� for our �tomorrow�. Our great nation will always draw inspiration from the sacrifices of those bravehearts,� the Governor said.
