Arunachal Guv presents Rajya Puraskars to Scouts, Guides

ITANAGAR, Oct 18 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (retd) today presented the Bharat Scouts and Guides Rajya Puraskars to 49 Scouts and Guides from different schools of the State during the 20th State Rajya Puraskar Awards ceremony at the Raj Bhavan here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor congratulated the awardees and exhorted them to work hard to excel in life. He also applauded the trainers and officials for guiding the students.

The Governor said that the Bharat Scouts and Guides Organisation helps in capacity building and enhances the potential of the students. He commended the Scouts and Guides activities in Arunachal Pradesh and expressed his confidence that these would continue to have a positive impact on the growth and development of the youth of the State.

Reminding the Scouts and Guides of the Scouts and Guides laws, the Governor advised them to actively participate in cleanliness works, teach children from weaker sections of the society, impart first aid training to other students, volunteer for social service and blood donation camps and strive to protect the flora and fauna. He also advised the Scouts and Guides to sensitise the fellow beings on social issues to promote amity and goodwill in the society.

The Scouts and Guides presented programmes depicting the cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh and national integration. A demonstration on first aid was also made by the Scouts and Guides. A brief report on the Scouts and Guides activities was also presented by State Guide Organiser Officer C Lowang.

In all, 30 Scouts and 19 Guides received the Rajya Puraskar Awards from the Governor. Among others, Education Minister Taba Tedir, the Governor�s wife, Neelam Misra, Secretary of Education Niharika Rai and Director of Secondary Education-cum-Ex-Officio State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides Gania Leij were present on the occasion.
