ITANAGAR, Sept 26 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (retd) has stressed the need of changing the mindset of the people with respect to cleanliness.
�Keeping the surroundings clean is not the duty of the municipal workers alone, it is the responsibility of every citizen of the State,� the Governor said while participating in the Swachhata Hi Seva Hai programme on single-use �plastic-free India� at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The Governor urged the students and youths to motivate their friends, peers, parents, and relatives for cleanliness. He also emphasized on segregation of home waste.
The Governor also released a documentary titled Swachh Bharat Initiative at Raj Bhavan on the occasion, while his wife, Neelam Misra, felicitated the Raj Bhavan employees, who had contributed shramdaan to the Swachh Bharat Mission, with cloth bags and cash awards. A documentary film on the Swachhta Hi Seva Hai campaign in Arunachal Pradesh, produced by the Department of Urban Development, was also screened on the occasion.
