Arunachal Guv extends Pongtu Festival greetings

GUWAHATI, April 10 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (retd) has greeted the people of the State on the occasion of the Pongtu Festival. He expressed the hope that the festival would usher in peace, happiness and prosperity for all, an official release received here stated.

In his message, the Governor said that �the rich and vibrant festivals of Arunachal Pradesh are a testimony to our diverse traditions and unique culture�. These occasions also preserve, protect and promote age-old traditions, he added.

�On this occasion, along with all my Tutsa brethren, I offer my prayers to the Almighty for his choicest blessings,� the Governor said, adding that �in our joint endeavour to defeat the spread of COVID 19, I call upon our Tutsa brethren to celebrate Pongtu festival this time individually at home while maintaining social distancing. Let us take all precautions in letter and spirit and remain safe from deadly corona virus infection�.
