ITANAGAR, June 12 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor JP Rajkhowa has condoled the demise of Achyut Lahkar, the pioneer of Assamese theatre movement.
Deeply saddened by the passing away of the �Father of Assamese Mobile Theatre� after prolonged illness, the Governor in his condolence message said that late Lahkar was the pioneering dramatist, veteran actor-director and producer who staged numerous memorable plays in mobile theatre.
The Governor said that late Lahkar will always remain in the hearts of the people and his legacy will live on through his noted works and plays.
While conveying his sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved family and praying to the Almighty to give them mental strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss, the Governor said that the Assamese theatre will, without doubt, miss his commanding and endearing presence as the towering theatre personality.
