Arunachal Guv, CM greet teachers

ITANAGAR, Sept 4 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor JP Rajkhowa and Chief Minister Nabam Tuki have greeted the teaching community of the State on the eve of Teachers� Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of philosopher and former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

The Governor expressed hope that the occasion will inspire members of the noble profession to rededicate themselves towards imparting knowledge and value-based education which are so essential for nation-building.

In his message, CM Nabam Tuki said: �On this particular day, I salute our teachers, especially those serving in interior and rural places without basic facilities facing innumerable hardships, who have been silently contributing in man-making and State-building process.

Dimapur Correspondent adds: Describing the teachers as our second guardian, Nagaland and Assam Governor PB Acharya said they helped us become the people that we are today. In his message on the eve of Teacher�s Day tomorrow, the Governor said teachers made us shine, empowering with knowledge and made us believe that each one of us have something special.

He said Teacher�s Day gives us an opportunity to offer the teachers a small token of our appreciation for the difference they make in the lives of our children and the future of our country though we can never really thank our teachers enough.
