Arunachal Guv, CM discuss COVID-19 scene

ITANAGAR, June 5 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today called on Governor Brig Dr BD Mishra (retd) at the Raj Bhavan here and apprised him of the steps taken by the State Government to fight against COVID-19. They also discussed other issues like Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, and matters pertaining to development, law and order, etc., an official release issued here stated.

During the meeting, the Governor praised the Chief Minister and his team for taking effective anti-COVID-19 measures. He, however, expressed concern over the sudden spike in the number of positive cases in the last few days. Arunachal Pradesh had recorded 43 COVID-19 cases till Thursday.

The Governor and the Chief Minister also discussed measures taken for strict adherence to the standard operating procedure (SOP) and the protocol to arrest spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, Mishra stressed the need of strengthening the five pillars for a �Self-Reliant India�, as mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which are economy, infrastructure, technology-driven system, vibrant demography and demand. He reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh has the advantage of a limited population, and that it can take the extra step in fully utilising the supply-demand chain.
