Arunachal Guv, CM condole J&K CM�s demise

ITANAGAR, Jan 7 - Arunachal Pradesh Governor JP Rajkhowa has condoled the sudden demise of Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. Sayeed breathed his last at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi this morning.

In his condolence message to Mehbooba Mufti, daughter of the late Chief Minister, the Governor said that the demise of Sayeed has caused a huge loss for the nation, particularly for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

He further said that Sayeed was a great nationalist, who worked selflessly for peace, progress and development of the country and the State of Jammu & Kashmir in particular. He made immense contributions to the nation as Union Minister and also as Chief Minister. Such instances of dedicated, patriotic and selfless service are rare and this makes him stand tall among his peers.

Arunachal Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, who is away in New Delhi, also mourned the sudden demise of his Jammu and Kashmir counterpart.

In his condolence message, Tuki said that the country has lost an eminent personality and a veteran politician in Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. His demise is loss to not only Jammu and Kashmir but entire India and he will be remembered for his services for years together.

Earlier today, Tuki paid his last respects to the departed leader at AIIMS.
