ITANAGAR, June 15 � Currently on his maiden official tour to the national capital, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa called on Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar at New Delhi on Monday.
They discussed on expediting the developmental projects including Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) project, proposed Sainik School (at Niglok village under Ruksin Circle in East Siang district), and roads under Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
The Governor urged the Defence Minister for relaxation in recruitment norms for the youth of Arunachal Pradesh and for infrastructure facilities in border areas. Later in the day, the Governor called on the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and took up with him various issues of development of the State.
Earlier on Saturday, the Governor called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprised the PM about various important issues of the State. During the meeting, the Governor emphasised on strengthening the border areas, harnessing the natural resources of the State and expediting road, railways and air connectivity projects.
