Arunachal Govt reduces petrol, diesel prices

ITANAGAR, Oct 4 - The Arunachal Pradesh Government today announced reduction in the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 2.5 from the existing rates after the Centre cut their prices by Rs 2.5 per litre, making the fuel prices cheaper by Rs 5 per litre. This was announced by Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

�I am happy to announce that govt of Arunachal has decided to reduce the price of petrol and diesel by Rs 2.5 per litre, following the @FinMinIndia @arunjaitley decision to cut the prices of petrol & diesel by same rate - making it Rs 5 less than the prevailing rates,� Khandu tweeted.

�In order to ease the difficulties of the common people and also to reduce the inflationary trend, following the Government of India decision, the State Government has taken decision to reduce petrol and diesel prices by Rs 2.5 each. Consumers will benefit a total relief of Rs. 5 per litre,� stated an official release here.

It added that the State Government will bear the impact of the cut of Rs 2.5 per litre from the State VAT. This action is being taken in public interest despite loss of revenue for the State Government.
