Arunachal Dy CM calls on Governor

ITANAGAR, Nov 17 - The Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Chowna Mein called on Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here today.

Minister for Civil Supplies Kamlung Mossang was also present at the meeting, a press release issued by Raj Bhavan said.

They reviewed the developmental programmes and projects, law and order issues and civil supplies in the State.

The Governor stressed on proper monitoring and implementation of projects within a timeframe. He suggested regular review meetings to ensure speedy progress of the projects, particularly the road projects.

The Governor emphasised on timely allocation of necessary fund for the development works to the concerned departments, so that the last-minute rush for release of funds at the close of the financial year could be avoided.

At the same time, there should be a strong mechanism to prevent leakage or misutilisation of allocated public money, the Governor said.

The Governor has also communicated the same to the State Public Accounts Committee Chairman and MLA Ninong Ering.

The Governor also discussed about recent law and order incidents in the eastern part of the State. He advised the Deputy Chief Minister to further strengthen the age-old amity and goodwill amongst people of different communities in the State.

The Governor advised the State Civil Supplies Minister to streamline the public distribution system, so that every citizen of the State, particularly those in remote areas like Taksing, Monigong, Chaglagam and Vijoynagar, gets regular supplies of essential commodities.

Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister, who has recently returned from his district tour, briefed the Governor about various projects which have been successfully implemented and also about the progress of some important ongoing State and centrally sponsored projects.
