ITANAGAR, Sept 11 - Attending the Universal Brotherhood Day celebration at Narottam Nagar, Deomali, in Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today said the teachings of Swami Vivekananda are more relevant today than when the great saint addressed the World Religions Conference at Chicago on this day in 1893 and gave a clarion call for universal brotherhood.

The day was observed by the Ramakrishna Mission, Narottam Nagar, to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekanandas historic address in the World Religious Conference in Chicago on September 11, 1893.

On this very day, the whole world discovered a new India mesmerizing and enchanting, enabling and all-encompassing as Swami Vivekananda rose to speak at the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893, said Mein.

While applauding the Ramakrishna Missions efforts in the education and health sectors and relief works, Mein assured the Mission that as it works for the welfare of the people of Arunachal, the State Government would also strive more to increase its support.

We want the Ramakrishna Mission to provide all the best possible so that our children become the best without needing to go elsewhere. I am extremely glad to know that this years topper for the Class X CBSE exam Jirdam Gameh is from the Ramakrishna Mission School, Narottam Nagar, the Deputy Chief Minister said.

The Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Itanagar, Swami Vishweshananda, Secretary of the RK Mission School, Narottam Nagar, Swami Achyuteshananda and principal Brahmachari Tadatmachaitanya also spoke on the occasion.
