Arunachal COVID tally rises to 15,792

ITANAGAR, Nov 15 - One more person has died of COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, taking the State�s death toll to 48.

�A 75-year-old man from Daporijo, Upper Subansiri district, expired due to cardio respiratory failure. He was suffering from diabetes mellitus,� State Surveillance Officer (IDSP) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Meanwhile, the State�s COVID-19 caseload has gone up to 15,792 as 34 more people have tested positive for the virus on Saturday. The infected patients included four prisoners from District Jail, Pasighat, stated a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here.

Of the new cases, 13 were reported from Itanagar Capital Complex, 9 from West Kameng, 6 from East Siang, 3 from Leparada, and one each from Changlang, West Siang and Lower Subansiri.

Twenty-three of the fresh cases were found to be asymptomatic and 11 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

Meanwhile, 102 patients have been cured and discharged from various hospitals on Saturday, pushing the number of recovered cases to 14,421. The recovery rate now stands at 91.31 per cent.

The State presently has 1,323 COVID-19 active cases, which accounts for 8.69 per cent of the total number of confirmed cases. 1,116 of the total active cases are recuperating under home isolation and rest in various Covid care facilities.

Itanagar Capital Complex has recorded the highest number of infections at 5,646 that included 801 active cases, 4,822 discharged and 23 fatalities, followed by West Kameng with 802 cases, including 96 active, 702 cured cases and four deaths.

The State has, so far, tested a total of 3,41,928 samples for COVID-19, including 829 on Saturday, as per the bulletin.
