Arunachal COVID tally climbs to 11,998

ITANAGAR, Oct 11 - Arunachal Pradesh registered 239 new COVID-19 cases, taking its tally of confirmed cases to 11,998. The State also recorded discharge/recovery of 158 patients, raising the number of recovered cases to above 9,000-mark, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here.

Of the fresh cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the maximum of 89 cases, followed by Changlang with 36, West Siang 34, East Siang18 and Tirap has 5.

Eight cases were detected in Leparada, seven in Lohit, six in Lower Subansiri, five in Lower Dibang Valley and four in Upper Subansiri. Upper Siang, West Kameng and Namsai found three cases each, and Lower Siang, Papumpare, Longding and East Kameng two each. Among the new cases, 204 were found to be asymptomatic and 35 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

The State presently has 2,940 active COVID-19 cases undergoing treatment, including 1,007 in various Covid care facilities and 1,933 under home isolation.

So far, 9,035 patients have recovered from the disease, as 23 people have already succumbed to the coronavirus infection. The State has registered the recovery rate of 75.30 per cent.

Itanagar Capital Complex - comprising the twin capital towns of Itanagar and Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa - remained the worst affected with a total of 4464 positive cases, including 1308 active, 3146 discharged and 10 death cases.

Changlang is the second worst affected with a total of 985 cases, including 189 active cases, 794 discharged and two casualties, while the third place holder is Papum Pare having 796 cases, including 208 active cases, 581 recoveries and one fatality.
