Arunachal COVID-19 tally surges to 1,948

ITANAGAR, Aug 7 - Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday recorded 93 more COVID-19 cases, taking the State�s overall tally of confirmed cases to 1,948.

Sixty-eight out of the newly infected persons are Central Para-Military Forces (CPMF) personnel, with Namsai accounting for 54 cases alone.

As many 38 cured persons were also discharged, thereby taking the total number of recoveries to 1,245.

The active cases in the State stand at 700. There have also been three casualties, a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services stated here.

Apart from the 55 cases reported from Namsai, 10 cases have been confirmed in Lohit, eight in East Kameng, and six cases each in Tawang and the Itanagar Capital Complex. Two cases each have been detected in Changlang and Lower Siang, while West Kameng, Tirap, Papum Pare and West Siang have reported one case each.

Seven out of the 93 new cases have been found to be symptomatic and 86 asymptomatic, as per the bulletin.

Among the 38 discharged cases, the Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for 21, followed by East Kameng (nine) and Changlang (five). Lower Dibang Valley, Tawang and East Siang also saw release of one case each.

As per the bulletin, the Itanagar Capital Complex still remains the worst affected with a total of 835 positive cases including 150 active and 684 discharged cases, and one death, followed by Changlang with 269 cases, including 147 active cases and 122 recoveries, and Namsai with 160 cases that included 104 active and 56 discharged cases.
