ITANAGAR, Dec 3 - The COVID-19 caseload of Arunachal Pradesh surged to 16,320 as 24 more people, including four security personnel, tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.
However, the single-day recoveries continue to outnumber fresh infections as 45 more patients have recuperated from the ailment, pushing the number of cured cases to 15,488. The State�s recovery rate now stands at 94.90 per cent. Fifty-four persons have died of the viral infection so far.
Meanwhile, the State�s active cases have fallen down to 778, which comprise 5.10 per cent of the total caseload, stated a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here.
The Itanagar Capital Complex reported nine of the new cases, followed by East Siang (six), Changlang (three), Lower Subansiri and West Kameng (two each) and Anjaw and Namsai (one each). Twenty of the fresh cases have been found to be asymptomatic and four symptomatic, the bulletin added.
Arunachal Pradesh has so far tested 3,61,250 samples for COVID-19, including 1,162 on Wednesday.
