Arunachal COVID-19 tally reaches 8,869

ITANAGAR, Sept 27 - Arunachal Pradesh reported 198 more COVID-19 cases, taking its tally to 8869, according to a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here.

As many as 87 new positive cases were reported from Itanagar Capital Complex, 21 from East Siang, 14 from Changlang, 12 from Tawang, and 10 each from Kurung Kumey and West Kameng.

West Siang, Papum Pare and Upper Subansiri detected seven cases each, while five cases each came from Longding and Lower Subansiri. Four cases were found in Lower Siang, three in Tirap, two in Upper Siang and one each in East Kameng, Lower Dibang Valley, Namsai and Kamle.

Of the new virus cases, 173 were found to be asymptomatic and 25 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

Meanwhile, 167 patients were discharged from various hospitals following their recovery from the infection, raising the number of recoveries to 6,397.

The State has currently 2,458 active COVID-19 cases, while 14 people have died of the contagion. Itanagar Capital Complex has been the worst affected with a total count of 3,256, including 1324 active and 1928 discharged cases coupled with four casualties.

The State capital is followed by Changlang with 765 cases, including 122 active cases, 641 discharges and two fatalities, and Papum Pare with 576 cases, including 150 active, 425 cured cases and one death, to be at second and third position respectively.

In the meantime, the number of samples collected so far for COVID-19 testing has mounted to 2,38,223.
