ITANAGAR, May 19 - Buoyed by the party�s resounding victory in Assam�s Assembly polls, BJP, Arunachal Pradesh today extended its heartfelt congratulations to the people of Assam for giving a resounding mandate to the BJP-led alliance in the recently held Assembly elections.
�It is a historic victory and first of its kind in the political history of Assam�, the Arunachal BJP said, adding that �it would have an impact in political equation of North East as a whole�.
�The victory of the BJP and its electoral alliance is the result of the Congress�s misrule and corruption by the successive Congress Governments in Assam,� the saffron brigade said, adding that �it is the beginning of a new era of political transformation in Assam in particular and North East as a whole�.
The BJP also said party�s spectacular win in Assam signifies the North East is entering an era of �Congress-Mukt� North East. The BJP workers and leaders also celebrated the poll victory at the party�s State headquarter at Itanagar by burning firecrackers and distributing sweets.
