The percentage of Aadhaar-authenticated beneficiaries in the State is 98 per cent.

Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar presented the award in a ceremony organised to celebrate the second anniversary of the PM-KISAN scheme, at New Delhi today.

Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister Tage Taki and State Nodal Officer for PM-KISAN Idar Nyori received the award on behalf of the State.

Congratulating the State Agriculture Department on achieving the feat, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, in a post on Twitter, wrote: “Farmer’s welfare is our priority. Congratulations to department of agriculture for achieving 98% Aadhaar authentication of beneficiaries of PM-KISAN.”

Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Taki said that this award authenticates the efficient implementation of the scheme and sheer dedication of the entire team of officers and field functionaries of the State Agriculture Department who worked sincerely and tirelessly to achieve this milestone for the welfare of farmers of the State.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2019, an income support is provided to all eligible landholding farmers’ families across the country to enable them to take care of the expenses related to agriculture and allied activities as well as domestic need. Under the scheme, an amount of Rs 6,000 per year is provided to an eligible farmer after receipt of verified data of farmers and their validation through Aadhaar/PFMS (Public Financial Management System).
