Arunabh, Maharnav share joint lead

GUWAHATI, June 25 - Arunabh Gohain and Maharnav Deka secured a joint lead with 3.5 points each after completion of fourth round in the Young Masters Chess Classic (second edition) organised by Guwahati Chess Academy at its RG Baruah Road premises here.

Altogether 22 players including 16 rated players are participating in the event. Pranab Kumar Nath is conducting the tournament as chief arbiter. The tournament will conclude tomorrow, stated a press release.

Results: Arunabh Gohain (3.5) drew with Maharnav Deka (3.5); Mayank Chakraborty (3) beat Aarohon Bharadwaj (2); Dhritiman Bez (2.5) drew with Aslesha Talukdar (2.5); Arkaprova Rajkonwar (3) beat Nihad Islam Hazarika (2); Abhinav Dubey (3) beat Sajal Saroj Lahkar (2); Biswajyoti Das (2) drew with Medha Barooah (1.5); Gunjan K Basistha (1) lost to Pran Govinda Parashar Kashyap (2.5); Manish Gwra Basumatary (2) beat Baibhabi Baruah (2); Ikshita Barman (2) beat Navoneel Choudhury (1); Afsheen Afsha Zaman lost to Kuvam Kumar Kashyap (2).
