GUWAHATI, Aug 25 - Ahead of the forthcoming assembly elections, artistes today flocked to join the two major political outfits, the BJP and Congress. Many of the artistes were those associated with the anti-CAA protests in December last. Those who joined the saffron brigade said they were always attracted by the partys ideology.
Around 27 artistes, including Simanta Shekhar, who had rendered the partys state theme song during the Lok Sabha elections akou ebar Modi sarkar and flautist Deepak Sharma joined the BJP at a programme in presence of State unit president Ranjeet Kumar Dass.
