Art competition held ahead of Environment Day

GUWAHATI, May 27 - As part of World Environment Day celebrations, the Pollution Control Board, Assam, today organised an art competition among students at the Cotton University Indoor Stadium.

Altogether 478 students, from Class I to IX, participated in the competition. It was held in four categories, including one for the differently abled.

The objective of the competition was to raise awareness among students on the issue of plastic pollution. The theme was in line with the global theme of World Environment Day 2018 � �Beat Plastic Pollution� � as announced by the UN Environment Programme.

Star Cement supported the event. The results will be declared on the Board website and the winners will be felicitated on June 5.
