IMPHAL, March 4 - The chairman of Kangleipak Communist Party-People�s War Group (KCP-PWG) and his close associate, who were arrested in New Delhi recently, were brought here today. A combined team of Manipur Police and a special cell of Delhi Police had arrested KCP-PWG chairman Lamyanba Khuman, along with his associate Hijbur Rahman, in north Delhi on March 1.
The duo was brought here by State Police personnel in separate flights on Wednesday. The chairman of the outfit arrived at the Imphal Airport along with two officers of the State Police around 11.45 am, while his close aide landed at the airport around 1.30 pm.
Police commandos hurriedly whisked away the underground leaders soon after their arrival. They were brought to Imphal on obtaining transit remand from a local court at the national capital, a police source said.
