GUWAHATI, Sept 28 - A wreath-laying ceremony in honour of Lt Col Mayank Bora, a serving Indian Army Officer who expired at Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh on September 26, was performed at his residence at Panjabari here today with full military honour.
His mortal remains were was brought from Delhi via flight and received at the LGB International Airport by the Army. The mortal remains were then brought to his residence where the Army paid a fitting tribute to the officer, an Army statement said. Veterans from the State also paid homage to the officer.
Bora was the son of Col (retd) Biren Kumar Bora.
The officer leaves behind his wife Ankita and daughter Drishi.
After the wreath-laying ceremony, his mortal remains were consigned to flames at the Navagraha crematorium with full military honour in the presence of family members, relatives and well-wishers.
