By Correspondent

NALBARI, July 19 - An Army helicopter pressed into flood rescue operation in Lower Assam districts miraculously escaped from crashing at Koithalkuchi village in Nalbari district when it was returning to Guwahati at around 11.30 am on Thursday.

The helicopter, following sudden development of technical fault turned in the air after having crossed the Koithalkuchi Chowk, thus forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing at Koithalkuchi HS School playground.

There were three persons inside the helicopter. Subsequently, two more helicopters landed on the field to rescue the ill-fated helicopter. However, as they failed to detect the fault, they finally left the Army helicopter in the field. The emergency landing of three Army helicopters caused quite a sensation among the flood-affected people, who thronged the site to get a closer view of the flying machines.
