Army chopper makes emergency landing at Amsoi

By ANN Service

RAHA , May 8 - An army helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing on an agriculture field in the outskirts of Amsoi on Wednesday morning after it developed a technical snag.

The emergency landing was initiated when four trainee pilots noticed that there was a technical snag, police officials said.

The police stated that there were no casualties in the emergency landing at Amsoi Borbori village under Amsoi police outpost limits at around 6.30 am.

Some problem was detected in the engine due to which they (pilots) landed at Borbori village. Nobody was injured, a police official said.

The helicopter took off from the Rongapara Army station near Dimapur, Nagaland for a tour to Shillong, Meghalaya. Later it was flown back to the station from where it had taken off after the problem was fixed by an engineer who arrived with a team on the spot by another army chopper.
