GUWAHATI, May 11 � The 39th All Assam Arm Wrestling Championship was organised by College of Veterinary the Science Students� Union yesterday at the College of Veteniary Science indoor stadium, Khanapara here under the aegis of Arm Wrestling Association of Assam (AWAA), affiliated to Indian Arm Wrestling Federation.
The meet was inaugurated by Asst. Director General of Police Dilip Kumar Borah who is also the AWAA president.
In the championship, Sapna Hazarika of Sonitpur, Arup Rajkonwer of Dibrugarh and HA Vijaya of Kamrup secured champion of champion titles for 2015 in Sr women, Sr men and Masters category respectively.
The Assam team for the 39th National Arm Wrestling Championship to be held at Uttarakhand from June 13 to 17 will be announced soon, stated a release.
