IMPHAL, Oct 10 - In a major breakthrough, the Thoubal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Thoubal Commandos, recovered a huge cache of foreign weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores in Thoubal, according to a press release issued by the Assam Rifles (South).
�The recovery is a major success on part of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police to thwart the nefarious designs of the UG groups,� the release added.
It may be mentioned here that a large amount of arms, ammunition and explosives was recovered during a joint operation by 6 Assam Rifles and 27 Assam Rifles in Ukhrul district on May 22 this year.
