DOOMDOOMA, Oct 13 - A gang of 20/25 armed robbers broke into the office of Daimukhia Tea Estate owned by MK Shah Exports Ltd under Doomdooma PS in a bid to loot the money kept for the disbursement of bonus to the labourers of the garden, in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The manager of the garden lodged an FIR with Doomdooma PS and police launched a massive operation to nab the culprits.
According to reports, the gang threatened the night guards and broke open the office room, including the manager's room, and tried to break the vault but failed.
Then they asked for the key of the locker from those night guards and thrashed them. The robbers also threatened to shoot one of the night guards when they denied having any information about the locker key.
Before leaving, the gang damaged office furniture and took away a computer set, CCTV cameras of the office and two cell phones from the night guards.
