By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 4 - The Association of Architects, Assam (AAA) will celebrate World Environment Day with a central function in the ABC area of the city at 11 am tomorrow.

AAA president Tikendrajit Saikia told this newspaper that the Associations volunteers would also paste stickers carrying the appeal Avoid Unnecessary Honking on vehicles at various places that day.

The places selected for the purpose include Sixth Mile, Dispur Last Gate, Ganeshguri, Chandmari and Latasil, he said. Interested individuals and organisations may also collect the stickers from the AAA office, he said.

Saikia also appealed to the owners and operators of vehicles with air-conditioning facilities not to keep the air-conditioners of their vehicles on when they are in traffic jams, as this adds to a rise in the atmospheric temperature.
