SHILLONG, April 25 - The 101 Area defeated 17 Mtn Division 2-0 in a thrilling final of the Inter Formation Eastern Command Football Championship at the Garrison Ground, 101 Area here yesterday, stated a Defence press release.
The tournament was conducted at the Assam Regimental Centre (ARC) under the aegis of the Headquarters 101 Area from April 17 to 24.
Altogether 16 teams from various Army Formations took part in the meet.
The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Lt General DS Ahuja, GOC, 101 Area, who gave away the prizes to the winners and runners up team. Lt General DS Ahuja congratulated the winners and also complemented Assam Regimental Centre for organising the event flawlessly.
